So I would like to thank a friend of mine for allowing me to use her double jogging stroller so I can go running with my two children. I’ve been having a hard time getting up earlier than 6:00 a.m. every morning, and that just doesn’t give me enough time to do a complete workout before my husband needs to get to work, thus the need for a jogging stroller. Yay for friends!

That said, I would like to say that I love to run, and have been doing so long before I can remember. It has always been an outlet, a soothing activity where I don’t have to think about anything. I have a sister-in-law who is skinny as a rail (as I used to be) who all she has to do is start breastfeeding her children, and she loses every ounce of baby fat…not true for me. The baby weight stays on me until my children stop breastfeeding (which may be tough with my little guys, as he is really, really hooked to breast feeding). He will be a year old this month, and I am hoping beyond hope that he decides soon that he is finished.

Tomorrow morning is my start date. My goal is that I want to be able to run a half marathon in the spring, and be down to my pre-children weight long before that. Wish me luck!

“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a lion or gazelle - when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.” (From http://www.copacabanarunners.net/iquotes.html).
